My work as a translator, interpreter and writer, far different in tone from my legal translation work, encompasses theater, poetry, art house film, print, radio and television. Curiosity and the many turns my career has taken have given me knowledge of far-ranging subjects including Central American expressions, the New Economy, boxing and sports, politics, religion, Sephardic/Latin American Jewish culture and the non-profit.
Some of my published or performed work has won awards and acclaim. A great portion of it remains unpublished. All of it together represents, I think, an interesting take on the workings of a complex personality such as myself living in these most complex of times..
The treasure trove of unpublished translations in my possession consists of Spanish-language poetry, theater and literature, black history of Honduras, anthropology and other subjects, ready for a publisher. These, along with the several features and short films by Central American filmmakers that I've subtitled through my non-profit Bronx World Film, constitute a unique repository for upcoming generations. I welcome inquiries.
Specialties include audiovisual translation (subtitles and voice-overs), simultaneous or conference interpreting and audio transcription/translation.
